The Seatfrog app enables customers who have purchased a Virgin Trains East Coast standard Advance ticket to bid for an upgrade to First Class for their journey, when they are travelling on an eligible service which has First Class availability. Customers who hold the highest bid when the Seatfrog auction ends, will win the First Class upgrade for the journey they are making.
At the moment, customers can only bid on one upgrade, one seat, per journey. If there is more than one customer travelling on the same booking reference then each customer must have the Seatfrog app installed on their phone and have added the booking reference to take part. The number of upgrades in each auction are subject to availability so we can’t guarantee everyone in a group will win an upgrade or will be seated next to each other. However, we are working really hard in the background to make this happen in the future.
Yes! If you’ve purchased a Virgin Trains East Coast Advance weekday ticket through a supported third party website and you’re travelling on a service operated by Virgin Trains East Coast, then you will now be able to bid for an upgrade. Simply forward your booking confirmation email to email@example.com from the same email account you used to register with Seatfrog and any eligible services will automatically be loaded into your Seatfrog account.
